Several weeks ago the domain was transfered to another server. In this regard, some features of the site and the blog didn’t work correctly. It seems, now everything is ok and resource will work as usual mode. And I will continue to seek new places and things for photographing, for videoing.

What is the Neman? It’s a river located in the central part of the country and in the north-western part. It is one of the largest rivers of the country. Yesterday I visited it. I was there as early as 5:00 am. I made 67 shots. Of course, there are beautiful and varied places: a lot of springs and marshy places where the local frogs sing marriage canto. Also there are many mosquitoes! Their squeaks can be heard on the video. Brrr… Yeah, among these wetlands, I almost lost my way to the village, but the GPS navigator rescued me. Here’s link where other pictures published.

A little history about Lida city: medieval Lida castle, a fine archeological monument that is officially protected by the state. Lida Castle (Lidskiy zamok) was built in the early 14th century by Grand Duke Gediminas of Lithuania. Famously built on sand, Lida Castle has withstood 7 centuries of battles and occupations of the surrounding land. The castle dominates the town of Lida, which was badly damaged in a fire in 1891. Stones from the south-western tower and parts of the western wall of the castle were used to repair fire-damaged houses. In the 1920s work began to restore some of the castle walls. On January 22, 1940 the Castle of Lida was awarded the status of an archeological monument and in 1953 the castle was taken under state protection. In 2010 again work began to restore some of the castle walls and tower.

The spring flooding in some regions of Belarus is a common natural phenomenon. Especially prone to flood land near the Pripyat river, it could spill to 5-10 km in width. So here people says that the Pripyat is Belarusian Amazon. This video, which taken from windows of train, this is Neman river near the town of Stolbtsy has been overflowed too, although the usual width of the channel of Neman in this place no more than 10-15 meters.
